2024 Grooming Price Increase
Our salon offers a luxury service which necessitates a higher cost for grooms. As you know, we offer your pet a private appointment where s/he is groomed start to finish in a low-stress environment using gentle techniques. This greatly limits the amount of grooms we can do per day, but the pets love it and so do we! We use premium spa products to maximize the results of the groom; our tools and equipment are high quality to help achieve better and efficient grooms and they are maintained regularly. We belong to several grooming associations and attend educational seminars throughout the year which allows us to keep up to date on new products and techniques, safety issues, etc. Nicoll is an AKC certified groomer and has a certification for Pet First Aid / CPR. She and her husband are the only ones working with your pet so we can build a trustful relationship with them (and you)! We hope you find value in our services and us!
With that reminder, our last major price increase was in 2021. Since then, inflation has risen 13.5% and our expenses have risen greatly (many products doubling in cost!). While we have postponed increases twice, we can no longer afford to do so and our increase will be effective January 1, 2024. We do not have any control over most expenses except payroll, which we are foregoing raises. This increase is strictly to pay the overhead.
Our pricing is based at an hourly rate using four tiers. Each tier after the base tier is an additional $5.00 per hour. Our lowest tier is increasing $10.00 per hour. As such, grooms could increase from $10 up to $25 per groom. Trust us in that we wish we didn’t have to increase at all, but we love what we do and want to be here for years to come.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our small, local and family owned and operated business! We truly appreciate you!
2023 Business Changes
Grandma is retiring (mostly) and will be helping me on Saturdays only as
it is our busiest retail day. As such, we will no longer be making reminder
phone calls. Please be sure to record your appointment where you put
all of your other important appointments so you don’t forget us.
Retail will be downsized and the hours will change.
We
will be keeping Abady and other food lines that clients are currently
buying along with spa products, CBD and an assortment of treats
and toys (your favorites!). All remaining retail (collars, supplements, cat toys) will go on sale. So please check out our clearance section. Those gondolas will be for sale as well. Don't worry - we still have plenty of products to choose from!
Downsizing the retail will allow room for expanding grooming in the future.
The
store will only be open if we’re grooming. As hours can change weekly,
I will be updating the phone message, website, Facebook and Google each
weekend. For clients that come from afar, please know you can reach
out to me if my hours do not coincide with the time you need. I’m more
than happy to meet any time. The store’s Facebook page is the easiest
way to reach me (if the store is closed), but I do have my cell phone number on the
store hours notice on the front door if you need it.
After 17
years, and as much as I fought it, I can’t compete with online retailers
and as such, I can no longer work 50-60 hours per week. I need to give
back to my family time I have lost. But I still want to make myself
available to all of those that have and continue to support us. It
truly means the world to us! Thank you!
2022 PRICE INCREASE
UPDATE: The October price increase is being postponed until January, 2024.
We
did our best to absorb the ever increasing costs we've been hit with
this year, but unfortunately we cannot continue do so any longer if we
want to stay in business. Therefore, we will be increasing our grooming
prices effective October 1, 2022. Thank you for your understanding.
